Does CBD Help You Focus?

Does CBD Help You Focus?

If you’re one of the millions of students and professionals trying to keep up with daily demands, this post if for you. Many people would jump at the chance to naturally improve their mental sharpness and clarity. Since CBD has been applauded for a wide variety of benefits, you may wonder, does CBD help you focus? Here’s what we know.

CBD’s effect on other neurological processes

We know that CBD interacts with your body’s ECS, or your endocannabinoid system. You probably know that by now too. Your ECS has power over a variety of neural processes, including your mood. Think about the last time you were in a bad mood. Could you accomplish much of anything? Though raging through your to-do list or workout may be effective in some instances, how high-quality was the work you put in? Since CBD has the potential to act upon neurotransmitters such as dopamine, there is potential for it to improve mood. CBD has also been shown to alleviate a few different types of anxiety. Therefore, it’s highly possible for you to find a concentration of CBD for your specific biome that may improve mood, focus, and more. But it’s not a guarantee. You may also consider reviewing our work on whether or not CBD is a placebo.

There are limited but profound studies on cannabinoids and their effects on neurodegenerative diseases. The study linked concludes that phytocannabinoids, like CBD, have neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory effects. Conditions indicated include malignant brain tumors, childhood seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and neuropathic pain. So what does this have to do with focus? If CBD can positively impact brain function in animals and humans with neurodegenerative diseases, why can’t a specific formulation help you focus, too? Finding that formulation, other the other hand, might be the difficult part.

CBD’s effect on other bodily processes

There are a lot of questions surrounding CBD, and many of these answers are still being determined. Likewise, there’s much demand for scientific studies to catch up to consumer use. However, we discussed above that CBD acts upon your body’s ECS. Like mood, your ECS also pulls some weight in terms of how you experience pain. Are you thinking what we’re thinking? If you’re in pain — whether it be musculoskeletal, arthritic, or some other sort of cramp — you probably can’t focus very well. Therefore, using CBD orally or as a topical to address pain may help you improve focus.

But what if you feel fine and just want to focus more? We can’t conclusively say that CBD can improve focus, though it’s not impossible. Especially when combined with other natural ingredients that support healthy brain function, there’s an even better chance. What we do hope this article reinforces, however, is that there are studies out there supporting CBD as effective for certain conditions. And, to reinforce another key point, make sure you’re consulting your doctor before adding CBD into your regimen. After all, if you’re having trouble focusing, your doctor may be able to pinpoint something else that’s behind it.
