Kroger Launches CBD Sales In 17 States
Grocery store chain Kroger has begun selling CBD topicals at its stores in 17 states, joining a growing trend of traditional corporate retailers who are embracing CBD products since hemp was federally legalized last year.
Kroger is joining other traditional retailers, such as Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and even Family Video in offering CBD products following the passage of last year’s federal farm bill. The company is sticking to topicals since the Food and Drug Administration has yet to approve adding CBD to dietary supplements, cosmetics, and food additives.
Study Suggests CBD Has Promise for Treating Seizures in Dogs
CBD has shown to be effective for treating seizures in people with certain forms of epilepsy. A new study from Japan now suggests the same benefits that come from CBD could extend to dogs through animal-specific products like a CBD Pet Tincture.
The findings, published in Pet Behavior Science, come from the Yamazaki University of Health. Three dogs who suffer from frequent epileptic seizures were included in the study. Researchers gave the animals small serving sizes of a CBD Pet Tincture twice each day for eight weeks. They also assessed the dogs every two weeks during the study.
Two out of the three dogs included in the study reported significant seizure reductions while using the CBD Pet Tincture.
